originally built in 1613, built as the Village Grammar School, Laurel Cottage Bed and Breakfast is situated in Bowness on Windermere, in the English Lake District. We are a traditional family run guest house, a minute's stroll from Bowness Bay. A warm welcome awaits you at this family run Guesthouse. There are a good selection of pubs, quality restaurants and bistros in the area, to suit everyone's tastes =- ask us for recommendations any time.

We really are located in the centre of Bowness on Windermere, just one minute from walk from Lake Windermere. You can catch a "steamer" and sail up to Waterhead (Ambleside) or down to lakeside, where you can take a short trip on the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway. The Beatrix Potter experience is a short walk away, as is the Royalty Cinema - always showing the latest releases. If you want to walk or just look at the scenery there are several short local walks which finsh with a fantastic view, easily reached from our front door.

Rooms Description

Each of our rooms has its own character and we have a choice of single, double, twins, family rooms , Four Posters & Rooms with Superking Double beds- most rooms are ensuite. We pride ourselves on a warm & friendly welcome. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, central heating and flat screen television.

We also have four poster and super king sized beds and offer the option of having breakfast served in your room. All guests enjoy free use of the Parklands Country Club, just five minute's walk away. For the comfort and safety of all our guests, Laurel Cottage is a non-smoking Guesthouse - Sorry but we do not accommodate pets.
