Huge and heavenly 6ft beds, gorgeous bed linen - TV and DVD,wireless broadband internet, tea and coffee, - and lots more.. Families and Romantics! We welcome children over the age of 10 (ish - do ask, we're very flexible, but aren't too keen on the house wrecking kind!) The hideaway is absolutley perfect for family and/or friends travelling together - or for a romantic getaway for 2..
Tariff: We charge the same rate for all our accommodation, from £32 to £44 depending on the time of year (low season to bank hols!), and children over 10 are half price. Please email us for details of our website and tariff Smoking...or not, as the case may be.. Please, the house is a non smoking environment. And last but not least, we don't pretend to be anything we're not - no pretension, no photos taken from weird angles,no hidden unmentioned noisy main roads,no promises of musty decanters of sherry ( if you'd like a glass of wine just ask -we don't charge!) or dubious spa baths - we simply aim to provide you with really good bed and breakfast,in a lovely home, with a friendly relaxed and welcoming family, at a fair price. And we'd be delighted to think that like our many returning guests who've become our friends over the years, that you'll agree. Do email us for details of our website, photo gallery and tariff!
Beds Bedrooms and other Bits and Pieces In The Rooms All our accommodation has en suite "facilities" (hate that word but can't think of anything better!), colour TV DVD players wireless broadband internet access hairdryer hot water bottles fluffy towelling dressing gowns tea and coffee making bits and bobs corkscrew wine glasses books magazines ....and an alarm clock - should you need it! Beds and Bed Linen Both double rooms have new, really comfy 6ft beds of excellent quality. You'll find fat feather and down pillows (or synthetic if you prefer), white egyptian percale bedlinen, either a duvet or blankets, cotton waffle bedsread and quilted throw! We give you lots of layers so that you can be as warm, or as cool as you wish! What Are The Rooms Like? The Sunny Double On the first floor of the house is a pretty double room - not huge, but then it houses probably one of the biggest beds you'll ever have seen. We figured our guests would rather have a vast comfortable bed than acres of space to trip round in their party pumps! So it's not that small really. Anyway, there are a couple of large comfy wicker chairs,a half tester over the bed, an en suite shower room(decent shower with a glass door)and the windows face south and west over the garden towards the lake and the distant fells - bliss! The Hideaway On the second floor of the house is a four roomed hideaway. There's a cosy cottagey feeling about this part of the house -sloping ceilings, views over the treetops, and the sound of...nothing actually, except the birds. These rooms have their own small (quite steep) staircase with a door at the bottom, and are also sunny, and hidden away. We're happy for anyone to share this part of the house - one couple, two friends travelling together, or a family or group of friends. The second bedroom (2 x single beds)is accessed through the first (6ft bed). There is also a small kitchen/sitting area with fridge (sorry no cooking)and a bathroom with glass screen and shower over the bath.
What Makes Us Special? Hmmm...lets see gorgeous old house close to all the action - hiking water sports boats museums golf - but so secluded we could be miles from anywhere walk to over 8 nice restaurants and stagger home after even nicer wine! heavenly beds soft towels and a warm welcome good food from the best sources wake up to the waft of warm homemade bread freshly ground coffee and the best smaoked bacon you've ever tasted a touch of humour, and sometimes, fun too -we love sharing our home with visitors! cleanliness and warmth, light and space a lift from the station and great info about the area. oh - and two of the most adorable little dogs you've ever met...
