The King George traditional Lakeland Inn, in beautiful Eskdale offers the ultimate in atmospheric Lake District Accommodation. This delightful inn, serving real ales and a choice of superb whiskies, is a centuries old traditional Lakeland Inn standing at the heart of one of England's finest valleys. The inn sits on the crossroads joining Hard Knott and Wrynose with Ulpha and Wasdale. Much "olde worlde" character is retained, including real slate flagged floors, open fires, oak beams, low ceilings and real cask ales, plus a selection of over 200 real malt whiskies. Relax and enjoy fine food in our tasteful dining room, with a Courtyard mediterranean-style seating area, and upper bar seating. We offer diners a variety of tables to enjoy our fresh home-cooked meals, ranging from a traditional Cumbrian breakfast or main meals to bar snacks. Daily changing specials boards and non-smoking dining areas offer guests a comfortable and pleasant eating experience. We're the perfect walking base, offering a variety of amenities and facilities. We welcome dogs, on a lead, and can offer your dog refreshment! There is a stabling facility for your bike for the night, space for drying your clothes, a packed lunch to send you on your way, a small tuck shop for those that need extra sugar in their backpack and to keep the children happy whilst you have a quiet break. We can also fill up your flask! Traditional bar games are available for evening entertainment, plus special seasonal breaks may be available at certain times of the year.
