The Ravensworth Guest House - Windermere

Unique 4 star Lakeland guesthouse built in 1850. Very close to Windermere village. All rooms non-smoking. Perfect for sight seeing and walking.

The Ravensworth was originally a charming private residence dating from the 19th century, and is now a traditional Lakeland stone built guesthouse offering guests an accommodation environment with true character and luxury touches. Many original features have been retained, with the addition of a fine conservatory breakfast room. Conveniently located on the edge of Windermere village with easy access to the many attractions of the Lake District National Park. A warm welcome and a comfortable stay awaits in this most beautiful area of Lakeland, close to Lake Windermere and all it's attractions.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory between 8.30am - 9.30am. We offer extensive choice, including our traditional full English breakfast which is freshly cooked to order and will definately set you up for the day ahead, whether you're walking the fells or exploring the specialist shops or the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness on Windermere. For those who would prefer something lighter, or for vegetarians, we have plenty of alternatives to tempt you with. For the benefit and comfort of all our visitors the whole of the guest house is designated a 'No Smoking' area. We welcome well-behaved children over the age of eight years old. Please note that we no longer accept dogs.

Directions

Windermere is in the centre of the English Lake District and can be easily reached from the M6 junction 36 and by then following the A591. The nearest mainline railway station is Oxenholme at Kendal. Windermere has its own station, it is linked to Oxenholme by an hourly train service and is only a few minutes walk away. Turn off the M6 motorway at junction 36 onto the A590 (A591) to Kendal & Windermere. Follow the dual carriageway to the large roundabout just outside Kendal. Do not follow the signs into Kendal, but carry on the A591 to Windermere. After passing the Winderemere village sign stay on the main road (A591), ignoring the sign into the town centre, and we are about 300 metres on the left hand side just before the church.
