Glenthorne Bed and Breakfast makes a perfect intimate Windermere base. This small and homely guesthouse is most attractive, built of Lakeland stone dating from the turn of the 20th century. The property is a charming mid terraced house, with an idyllic small front garden filled with colourful shrubs, pot plants and hanging baskets. Glenthorne guesthouse is perfectly situated just off the main Lake road in a quiet residential area, half way between Bowness and Windermere. We're only a short amble down to Bowness adjacent to Lake Windermere. Guests then are assured of being close to attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter, as well as the many excellent selection of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and bistros in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Internally the guesthouse is superbly decorated, with each room individually decorated in tasteful colours, comfortable furnishings and matching fittings. /All bedrooms have been modernised to a high standard, while maintaining their own original character and charm. All are fully centrally heated for comfort, with colour televisions, radio alarm clocks, hair dryers and hospitality trays which hold tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits or sweets. There is also a selection of toiletries for your convenience. Ensuites are available to guests, plus a four poster bed dominates our large room of terracotta and gold. The B&B is non-smoking for the comfort of all guests. A small seat is positioned at the front of the guesthouse where guests can relax and enjoy the views. Included in the price of course is a full English breakfast, and we welcome vegetarians and accommodate special dietry needs. We also welcome pets, but by prior arrangement only.
