The Coppice is a delightful non smoking, AA 4 star Guesthouse, Selected to be in the AAs Best 450 B & Bs in Britain. Built in traditional Lakeland stone and situated in an elevated position between the villages of Windermere and Bowness. We offer both Bed and Breakfast and an extensive choice Dinner Menu. We are only minutes from the Bus and Train stations and given notice we will collect you from the station on the day of your arrival. Mini bus tours of half and full day duration conveniently start at our front door. You can leave the car in our ample Car Park and walk to Bowness taking a cruise round Windermere Lake, or stroll in the Fells with a packed lunch. The Coppice combines fine dining with an excellent central Lake District position, with easy access to Lake Windermere, the shops and the local attractions, Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Aquarium of the lake..

Our food has been Highly Comended by the AA as "well above expectation for a guesthouse". Dinner orders are taken in the lounge, between 7pm and 8-00pm from our 3 course Choice menu. Enjoy an aperitif by the coal fire whilst your meal is freshly cooked. We have an excellent local reputation for our food and only use locally grown Fellbred' Beef, Pork, Lamb or poultry, supporting our farming community, and Fresh Fish from Fleetwood. Our Breakfast also comended, is served between 8-30am and 9-15am and is of excellent size and quality. Vegetarians are well catered for, as are other dietary requirements including gluten free, fat free or sugar free, with prior notice.

Rooms Description

At the Coppice Guest House our bedrooms are mostly Superior double-bedded,or Deluxe four posters. All rooms are en-suite with showers or SPA bath,with Blue Haze illumatherapy and 2 family rooms (one a four poster to sleep 4) These are used as Doubles, Twins or single accommodation as required. All our Superior individually decorated rooms have 22"colour Flat screen DVD TV's, & a small selection of DVDs in each room, complimentary Tea/Coffee trays as well as other comforts. We do welcome pets in 3 bed-rooms and have a lit coal fire in the Lounge where you can play Chess, cards or other games or relax and read a book.

Guests benefit from free access to the superb Parklands Leisure Club which includes an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.
