This traditionally built Lakeland-stone house sits in its own gardens backed by Mill Beck and Sheriffs Wood. It is situated a short walk from both the centre of Windermere and Bowness at the heart of the English Lake District. The atmosphere is relaxed and tranquil. The house was built in 1888 as a Victorian gentleman's residence, on entry you will be immediately aware that Glenville still holds a lot of its original character. With Superior and Deluxe rooms and a freshly cooked breakfast each morning we are sure you will enjoy your visit to Glenville House. We have a NO SMOKING policy to enable all our guest a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

There is an endless list of places to visit and things to do and see in and around the Lake District and its surrounding areas. If you need any local information whilst staying at Glenville, we will be delighted to assist you.

Rooms Description

We have refurbished the Guest House in early 2007. We now have 4 Superior rooms which host King sized beds, luxury toiletries and bathrobes in the shower ensuites, widescreen TV, CD clock/radio, trouser press and quality hairdryer with an enhanced welcome tray which is replenished daily. We have 2 Deluxe rooms which have all qualities as above but are larger rooms and also have a bath in the ensuite, one also has a Super King sized bed.

Prior to arrival Flowers and Champagne or even a Hamper filled with localy made products can be arranged for your room, to celebrate a special occasion or just as a treat.
