Rooms Description

The Howbeck's eleven elegant and individually co-ordinated bedrooms are all named after Cumbrian becks. Beck is a Viking word meaning stream and is used only in Cumbria, south Durham and Yorkshire. Our Superior, Luxury rooms & superb suites are all well appointed and spacious with fully co-ordinated soft furnishings and ensuite bathrooms (some with Jacuzzi type spa baths, some with bath with shower over and some with walk in shower). Crisp white linen and snug quilts adorn all beds. Both superior and luxury rooms have a DVD player, so bring along your favourite DVDs / CDs. The luxury suites and all other luxury rooms (Greenburn, Windergill, Meregill and Glenridding & the Retreat) have Jacuzzi type spa baths and cosy towelling bathrobes for use during your stay. A decanter of sherry, fresh fruit and mineral water is also supplied in all luxury rooms. The three ground floor rooms (Lingmell, Mickleden and Lowthwaite) provide easier access for the less able. The retreat is a luxury suite with a difference, it has its own patio with fountain with table and chairs for those warm summer evenings. The retreat is furnished to a very high standard and gives a level of privacy not normally found in luxury B&B's. Breakfast and dinner can be served in the suite at a time to suite you. The room: The bedroom and dining room is beautifully finished with a rich solid oak floor. A large leather sleigh bed takes centre stage with a large flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a leather couch and dining table with chairs, along with a large walk in wardrobe. The bathroom: The bathroom features a large circular Jacuzzi bath big enough for two! Mood lighting, a flat screen TV built in above the bath and a cylinder body massage jet shower. Should you wish to leave the retreat the free spa and leisure club is just 5 minutes away, as are the fells and Windermere.
