Our recent refurbishment has retained the traditional bar and terrace features and a new fifty seat dining room reflects our desire to create a unique and special dining experience.

Rooms Description

Our self catering accommodation was opened in Spring 2003 and offers a top quality experience in individually designed and furnished cottages and suites. Guests can enjoy the privacy of their chosen accommodation coupled with ease of access to all the facilities of this charming Lake District Inn. The self-catering accommodation includes Winster Cottage which is a two bedroomed holiday cottage, with an extra double sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping 6 comfortably. Lyth Cottage has one bedroom with an extra double sofa bed in the lounge area, sleeping 4 comfortably. Cartmel Fell Suite consists of a double bed and a sofa bed, sleeps three and has a private walled garden. This suite is ideal for a couple and one child. For a larger base, choose Bowland Bridge Suite which is a double executive suite and sleeps 2. Gummers How Suite is also a double executive suite, and sleeps 2. Strawberry Bank Suite is a premier suite and comprises a king size 4 poster bedroom with feature roll top bath. Crosthwaite Suite is a double executive suite, sleeping 2.

We can arrange for a welcome hamper for your arrival at an additional cost. If you have any special requests, such as champagne, flowers etc, call us in advance and we'll arrange them for you. We have been shortlisted for the Country Life magazine Country Pub of the Year 2009 and also featured in The Times as one of the top ten places to stay for a winter break.
