The Galleries is a 4 Star Graded self catering cottage situated in the heart of Ambleside in the Lake District. With all the village facilities on your doorstep, you will be spoiled by the excellent choice of local pubs and restaurants and by the wide variety of interesting shops for some rather special mementoes of your stay. The Galleries has been imaginatively designed and refurbished to offer high quality self catering accommodation for four people and with 2 bathrooms it is ideal for two couples wishing to stay together. The small, decked seating area, accessed from the lounge is a unique use of outside space and has lovely views over the rooftops towards the church and Loughrigg Fell beyond.

The Galleries self catering cottage is located right in the centre of Ambleside at the head of Lake Windermere and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. This bustling, busy market town offers visitors numerous shops, cosy pubs and plenty of places to eat out. Ambleside has easy access to the surrounding fells and mountains and is an excellent base from which to tour the Lake District. A short walk from the town centre is Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70ft waterfall and to the southeast is Jenkins Crag (730ft), with its great views of Ambleside and the surrounding hills. Well worth a visit is Stagshaw Garden, a woodland garden with lovely floral displays set on a steep hillside overlooking Lake Windermere. From the garden walks lead through Skelghyll Woods to the fells beyond. For the less energetic, there are strolls along the shore of Lake Windermere, boat trips down the lake and back, or maybe just potter around the many outdoor shops, craft shops and galleries before a good pub lunch.

Bedroom 1: With full size twin beds that can be put together to form a double with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, handbasin and W.C. First Floor - Open plan living and dining accommodation: With super natural stone fireplace housing a electric stove effect fire. Deep cushioned seating, colour TV, video and DVD player. CD player. Kitchen: Recently fitted with fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob and microwave. Master bedroom: With double bed and en-suite shower room, with shower cubicle, hand basin and W.C. Outside there is a small decked area from the 1st floor with seating provided( 4 seats + small table). Private off road parking suitable for one car.
