Recently modernised 4 * cottage in Appleby to rear of 18th c. House, only a two minute walk to the town and all its facilities. Sleeps 1-5. Stair lift.

You will be welcomed to Low Edge with wine, scones and fresh flowers and in the cooler months, a warming log fire prepared for you so that you can begin to relax as soon as you arrive in this historic, market town. We provide 4 star self catering accommodation, sleeping up to 5 people. In our recently refurbished cottage, you can unwind in the open plan sitting room whilst reading a book in front of the crackling fire in the cooler seasons. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, an electric oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Why not eat al fresco and enjoy your home cooked meal on the private patio.

Here at Low Edge we offer accommodation for up to 5 people in a double, a twin and a single room all decorated to the highest standard and providing comfortable and cosy surroundings fully centrally heated. In the cottage, you will find all bed linen, towels, tea towels, coal and logs included in the rental. A power shower is provided over the bath and the bathroom is fully tiled. A washer-dryer is also available in the downstairs cloakroom. Our games room is popular with families as the children will be happily entertained! An electric stair lift makes the cottage ideal for guests who require this facility but it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Off road parking for one car is available. Sorry but pets are not accepted and there is no smoking in the cottage.

Specialities

The historic market town of Appleby is ideally located on the scenic Carlisle-Settle railway line allowing access to beautiful scenery and walks in the Eden Valley. The cottage is close to the imposing Norman castle at the top of Boroughgate which is lined with interesting 18th century houses, only a 2 minute walk to a variety of shops, pubs and eating establishments. Fishing, tennis and bowls are on the door step and a golf course is close by. The river Eden flows through the town in which horses are washed during the ancient, annual Gypsy Fair held in June attracting visitors from far and wide. There is easy access to the Lakes, North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Hadrian's Wall making Low Edge an ideal base from which to explore.
