Unique Grade II Listed B&B Near Carlisle, 2 Luxurious En-suites, Superb Food/evening Meals

Fiddleback Farm offers luxurious B&B accommodation in a unique Grade 2 listed building dating back 300 years. The B&B is non-Smoking throughout and situated on the outskirts of the historic City of Carlisle on the A595. We're an ideal location if you're en-route to or from Scotland. The Farm has a fascinating history, and an unusual round shape! It sits on a roman supply road built around 105-140 BC, and when originally built, if was fortified in order to repel invading Celtics. At one time it was a place of worship, as belief was that, as it was round, devils and evil spirits could not hide in the corners. Fiddleback Farm is indeed unique, as it is constructed in the shape of a fiddle, and was built along with two other buildings in the shape of musical instruments 300 hundred years ago.

We're just 25 miles from Hadrian’s Wall, and only twenty minutes drive from the Lake District National Park. Guests can expect superb home cooked evening meals and breakfasts. Relax and soak up the charm and character of this period property in the spacious lower lounge. We offer a laundry service should it be required, as well as an internet connection and high quality resolution printer. Our Breakfast is served in the breakfast/dining room, which is entranced via a tunnel. Breakfast includes a selection of fresh fruits and Full English breakfasts tailor made to suite your tastes. Evening meals are served between 7 and 7-30 pm, freshly prepared from local and organic produce, free from additives and e-numbers where possible. We offer a choice of either, traditional English or Continental cuisine and of course, a vegetarian alternative.

Rooms Description

Choose from two exquisitely spacious ensuites at the farm. We have one en-suite double, and one en-suite double/twin, which can accommodate two adults and two children. Located on the ground floor, both rooms have been recently refurbished to the highest standards. Children are welcome and cots, a Moses basket, baby bath and high chair can all be provided on request. The rooms enjoy a wealth of exposed oak ceiling timbers, and exposed sand stone walls, with large and extremely comfortable American manufactured queen size Beds and complementing English period furniture and pictures. For your comfort, all rooms have thermostatic radiator valves, for your individual temperature preference, remote control colour television, hairdryers, radio alarm clocks, fresh flowers, bottled mineral water, beverage tray with a selection of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, lattes, milk and biscuits selections. The en-suite bath/shower rooms, are again newly fitted and there is a selection of complementary soaps, bath and shower gels and an abundance of fresh towels.
