The Coach House is a superb Eden Valley B&B, particularly ideal for walkers as the guesthouse supervises a choice of themed guided walks. This charming Grade II listed B&B nestles in one of the most delightful reaches of the Eden Valley, and has been lovingly converted. The Coach House is conveniently close to both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, and is situated in the idyllic village of Warcop just off the A66. Warcop itself, with its shop and post office, is a classic English village just five miles from Appleby, so guests have easy access to Appleby's many country inns, specialist shops and famous church where Anne Clifford is buried, and Appleby castle. The house, which has ample parking, was built in 1820 as part of the High Sheriff of Westmorland's Eden Gate estate. Guests will love our many character features such as oak beams, log fires, and glorious views of the River Eden from your window.
The Coach House B&B is perfectly placed for walkers or those who simply want a peaceful retreat in some of Britain's finest countryside, but it is also on the doorstep of a variety of attractions. The Lake District with its Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth connections, the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgill Fells are all less than half an hour's drive away! The guesthouse has many facilities and amenities. Extra beds are available for children at £10 per child and we offer evening meals and packed lunches on request, as well as catering for special diets. We also offer airport and rail pick-ups and secure bike storage for cyclists. We welcome pets by prior arrangement only and offer a discount of 10% for bookings of five consecutive nights or more. Guests should note, we regret we are unable to accept credit cards.
