Luxury B&B, superb breakfasts/organic produce, horses welcome, non-smoking, within 7 acres

Candlewyck Barn B&B is a real character guesthouse which was once a candle factory. We're ideally situated in Ulverston, famous for it's Laurel & Hardy Museum and historic cinema. The guesthouse itself is set withinin 7 acres of land with views up the valley in glorious countryside surroundings, yet with easy access to bustling Ulverston. The separate accommodation has been newly completed this year and has been finished to the highest standards. Candlewyck is no smoking throughout for the comfort of all our guests, and also sorry no dogs (we do like them but they do tend to worry our Chickens!). Candlewyck is conveniently open all year round, even Christmas and New Year, however breakfast may be a little late during the festive season!

Facilities and amenities in the guesthouse are numerous, including a wide screen TV with surround sound, fully enclosed wet room, broadband internet connections and really comfortable beds. Candlewyck also has it's own livery yard so if you would like to bring your horse/horses you can ride in some of the most wonderful country side in the Lake District.

Specialities

Breakfasts at Candlewyck B&B are a delight. Guests can expect freshly squeezed fruit juices, cereals and porridge, a choice of teas, and eggs from our very own Candlewyck Wyandotte chickens. The Candlewyck platter includes marmalade sauce for the bacon and exotic wild mushrooms, (if we've been lucky enough to find some) helping to make your visit a memorable one. With views up the valley, the light and airy surroundings of your room makes it the perfect place to enjoy your breakfast as well as giving you the chance to view abundant wildlife. Champagne (Veuve Clicquot) can also be ordered to for that extra special evening or breakfast treat. We can also prepare a range of evening meals.

Directions

From the M6, take junction 36 towards Lake District Peninsulas, after about 2 miles take the A590 again towards the Lake District Peninsulas. In 16 miles you will come to Ulverston, follow the signs for the Town center, you will come to a small roundabout where you will need to take the road signposted to Broughton and Grizebeck. After about half a 1/2 mile Old Hall Road is on the left. Follow this road for about another 1/2 mile and you will find us on the left (just look for the chickens, or the picture here!). Travelling by Rail, Ulverston is lucky enough to have it's own railway station, a 5 minute taxi ride will see you at Candlewyck.
