About this property

Offering the delightful fusion of a classic cottage with modern furnishings and decoration, this property can provide a group of up to four people with light and airy accommodation, just a stone's throw from the beach.

Sleeping groups of up to four people, this property has been built from brick yet inside, has been decorated and furnished to exceedingly modern standards. It is conveniently located just next door to a pub, which also happens to belong to the owner so, although there is parking for up to two cars, there will be many evenings where you just won't need them! Central heating throughout warms the cottage in the colder months and there is a feature fireplace in the living room. If you prefer to eat in, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Silloth's location on the shores of the Solway Firth, facing the hills of the Southern Galloway and neatly bordered by the Lake District Fells, has attracted visitors for years. Its reputation for fabulous sunsets and sea views inspired the artist, Turner, to capture its atmosphere on canvas. The town itself was built as a railhead and a port in the 1850s and shipped in Irish Granite to build Christ Church, which is open to visitors. The streets are wide, stylish and lined with trees. Coupled with a beautiful promenade, this part of Cumbria could almost be a small French town. There is an 18-hole golf course, which was the 'home' course for Miss Cecillia Leitch, the most celebrated woman golfer of the 19th Century. In addition, there are many attractions around Silloth, such as Grune Point, a sandy, raised shingle beach approximately one mile long and supporting a community of specialist vegetation, including sea sandwort, sea-holly and sand couch-grass.

More about staying here

Sleeping four guests, this holiday cottage is perfect for families and friends visiting Silloth. There are two twin bedrooms, although one of them can be converted into a double room when requested in advance. There are also two bathrooms at the cottage.

Special to this property

There's high speed WIFI access at Albion Cottage, although you'll need to let the owners know if you'd like to make use of it while you're staying there. Families staying with especially young children can have cots and high chairs provided, and there's roadside parking for up to two vehicles.
