We're within easy walking distance from Ambleside's superb choice of shops, inns and restaurants, and Lake Windermere. This historic Edwardian house was built in approximately 1904 and was originally a large house called Glenamble, with adjacent servants quarters. For your comfort we have a no Smoking policy throughout, and we have been awarded the Visit Britain 5 Diamond and Silver Award so guests can be assured of the highest standards of comfort and care. Red Bank is the perfect Lake District base for walkers, with easy access to splendid Central Lakes Fell walking nearby plus a host of outdoor pursuits. No need to worry about parking in Ambleside, we have a large car park adjacent to the guesthouse.

Upon arrival after checking into your room, we will be pleased to serve you complimentary tea or coffee with biscuits. Relax and enjoy the luxurious surrounds, including the panelled lounge/hall. The house retains much of its original Edwardian character and atmosphere combined with all modern amenities. The relaxed atmosphere in our dining room overlooking the garden makes it a perfect start to the day where you enjoy a choice of breakfast.
