Situated in the picturesque village of Grasmere, the jewel of the English Lake District. Fairy Glen is a Bed and Breakfast of character, built in traditional Lakeland style in 1860. Celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2010 it is continuing a long tradition as a Grasmere Bed and Breakfast, first recorded in 1904. Owners Samantha and Sharon are nearing the completion of restoring and refurbishing Fairy Glen, we look forward to sharing our hospitality with guests new and old.

With their original Victorian stripped panel doors, cast iron rim locks, ebonized wooden door knobs, stripped floors, fireplaces and refurbished sash windows the rooms certainly have character. The handmade painted furniture gives a light and airy feel and to ensure the highest level of comfort during your stay all rooms feature rugs, interlined curtains or blinds and individually thermostatically controlled classically designed radiators and towel rails. Our elegantly refined Victorian style brass double bedsteads with luxury, high thread count white bed linens are combined with extra deep mattresses and luxury micro fibre duvets and pillows which give the feeling of down with properties suitable for allergy sufferers. Contrast this with rich silk bedspreads and an abundance of velvet and silk cushions our beds offer a sumptuous haven for the hardened fell walker or village stroller alike. Walk into our ensuites and luxury surrounds you from the classically designed 1930s Mackintosh Art Deco style range of taps and showers with 8 inch rainfall heads and black ceramic levers, to the black italian tumbled marble tiles, complemented with luxury toiletries and super soft Egyptian cotton towels in Chatsworth grey, our shower rooms complement both the eye and hand. Flat Screen televisions, ipod docking stations and hairdryers are standard in all our rooms as is a complementary tea and fresh coffee tray with little added extras. .
