Around and About

Dufton is situated in an ideal location for visiting both the Lake District and Eden Valley. This lovely village has a good pub that serves food and the Agricultural Show is held on the last Saturday in August. Just three miles away is Appleby-in-Westmorland, one of the loveliest towns in the north of England. The town is situated in the heart of the delightful Eden Valley and has many shops and is one of the main stops for the Settle-to-Carlisle Railway. The Appleby-in-Westmorland Jazz festival that takes place in July is a popular attraction. Walkers should head to Dufton Fell and the Pennine Way to take in the breathtaking scenery plus with the village of Pooley Bridge and the town of Penrith close by, this makes Dufton an ideal base.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
