Burn Cottage - Carlisle

Idyllic cottage barn conversion and B&B near Carlisle on a small farm, close to Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District and Kielder Forest. S/C sleeps 6

The accommodation comprises a converted farmhouse and 2 self catering cottages, including the beautiful Burn Cottage barn conversion which has two bedrooms. The bed and breakfast accommodation offers clean ensuite family, twin, double and single rooms. A number of ground floor rooms are available. A Full English breakfast is also included in the price. Burn Cottage is one of our delightful self catering homes and has 2 spacious bedrooms. Has well equipped lounge, modern kitchen and separate dining area, family bedroom and ground floor twin, both en suite. Heating, linen and laundry facilities are provided (electricity is metered). Burn Cottage looks out onto a large garden and benefits from magnificant views of the countryside from upstairs. The traditional outside steps of the barn have been retained and there is ample parking for two cars.

The large woodland beside the farm has a number of individual walks and local leisure amenities include Golf Courses, a Swimming Pool, Fishing, and Horse Riding, which is usually available on the Farm. Home cooked meals are available for both our Farmhouse and Self Catering guests and we also have a residential license to serve alcoholic beverages on the premises. We're perfect for wedding guests, and wedding receptions and we benefit from our close proximity to Gretna Green, just a 15 minute drive away. We provide a comprehensive reception service and our function room seats 30 guests.

Directions

South of Carlisle, follow M6 north bound to Carlisle. Exit M6 at Junction 44. Take the A7 to Longtown. (third left off the roundabout at Junction 44). When in Longtown take the second right turn into Swan Street. If you pass the traffic lights you have gone too far. North of Carlisle, follow A74 south bound to Gretna. From Gretna take A7 to Longtown. Go over the river Esk and take second left into Swan Street. (Just after the traffic lights). From Swan Street in Longtown, Travel down Swan Street. (Ignore right hand junction to Brampton). Continue all the way through the built up area, passed the National Speed Limit Sign. Take the first right beyond the speed limit zone - signed for Solport. Follow this road for 5 1/2 miles and you will see the sign for New Pallyards.
