Chappels Farmhouse offers guests, especially families, the perfect Lake District Farmhouse holiday, with accommodation on-site for both horses and dogs. The farmhouse is non smoking throughout, and situated in the foothills of Black Combe in Whicham Vallley near Millom on the south-western edge of the Lake District. This atmospheric property is a traditional 18th century Cumbrian farmhouse, refurbished and modernised in 2005 to provide excellent 4 bedroom accommodation for 7, adjacent stabling and paddocks for 2 horses and kennels near the house for the dogs. The farm also benefits from close proximity to the sea, and is ideally located for fell walking, sandy beaches, golf, historic houses, a miniature railway and wildlife park. Children will love the farm, and there are loads of surrounding off road tracks to walk and cycle but we do highly recommend wellies and outdoor clothes, as some of the tracks can get very muddy. Streams run near the house which are great fun to paddle in and a lovely sandy beach at Silecroft (just 4 miles away) is brilliant fun for kids, and for riding!

Off road parking is available for a number of cars, a horse box, and a trailer. The farmhouse includes a downstairs bedroom and shower room and a further bedroom upstairs. Both bedrooms can be used either as twin bed or double rooms as required. Bed linen and towels are provided. A travel cot, stair gate and high chair are also available on request. The property has central heating throughout and a phone available for use. The Downstairs Kitchen/ Dining area has a deluxe 5 door AGA, electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, CD player, welcome pack, dining table with double doors to patio area and an enclosed garden. The spacious Lounge has a wood burning stove, TV, DVD and VCR. Also available is a handy Laundry room for wellies, walking boots, and tack cleaning and is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, and freezer.
