The cottage features inglenooks, exposed beams and open stonework making it a charming holiday base, set within the heart of a traditional Cumbrian village. The cottage benefits from gas central heating and an open log fire, a ' must ' after a day on the fells, beach or exploring the beautiful Northern Lakes, possibly enjoying a glass of complimentary wine . Stables benefits from a large lounge and a very well equipped farm house kitchen/dining room with modern applicances, ideal for hosting holiday and family gatherings. You can spoil yourselves at one of the nearby local country pubs -- The Royal Yew (500 yds from the cottage) serves excellent food as does the Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater both have their own breweries plus many more in the area.

The cottage is situated in the heart of the peaceful village of Dean on the edge of the unspoilt Northern Lake District, 5 miles from the Georgian market town of Cockermouth & the bustling market town of Keswick 11 miles. The cottage benefits from a stoned wall garden with patio/BBQ area makes for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Ideally situated for exploring the Northern Lakes - Loweswater, Crummock, Buttermere, Bassenthwaite ( famous for the Ospreys Ennerdale, Muncaster Castle & L'aal Ratty train from Ravenglass to Eskdale , Wastwater which inspired the National Park Logo, St Bees, Whitehaven with the Famous Rum Story , Maryport - excellent Aquariam, mountains, glorious valleys, historic, cultural & family attractions are worth visiting. The increasingly popular West Cumbria and The Solway Coast are a short distance which is famous for the sunset over Criffel, part of the Galloway Hills ,the Scottish Borders & Carlisle are easily accessible. DOG WALKING :- many places are nearby e.g Whinlatter Pass , Dodd Wood (Bassenthwaite ), Ennerdale , Loweswater and the West Cumbrian & Solway Coast beaches where they can run and run !

The cottage has timber beams throughout there are 2 double bedrooms - one bed Queen size . and the rooms are decorated in a cottage style and patchwork quilts covering the ready made up beds to welcome you to a restful night's sleep & touch base bed lights on the bedside tables . Personal towels are provided. Bathroom has a bath, shower , washbasin ,toilet & complimentary shower gel & tissues. Large beamed lounge with a welcoming log open fire & very comfortable double bed settee. The comfortable lounge is furnished with antique furniture & a upright piano The lounge benefits from Digital TV/DVD/Video and CD player. Games , maps ,guide books & up to date Cumbria Life, videos & children's toys are all provided Large open plan dining area and kitchen benefiting from dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, electric oven/cooker, microwave, large pine dining table. The dining area has bed settee if needed. Cottage has a stoned wall secret mature garden with BBQ/patio. Shed can be used for storage of bikes. Able parking for 3 cars.
