Ambleside and Grasmere are a mere two miles away, as is the head of Lake Windermere, in the heart of the English Lake District. There are a number of scenic walks through pasture, tarns and fells leading directly from the doorstep and breathtaking views of the surrounding Lake District.

We are just 2 miles from Ambleside, a popular tourist centre and is the ideal starting point for excursions, walking, cycling or driving to all areas of Central Lakeland. Grasmere is also 2 miles away from Colwith. Visit their famous Gingerbread shop or visit Dove cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth. Slightly further afield is Bowness on Windermere. Why not take the kids to the Beatrix Potter Museum or hire a rowing boat and take in the views from the lake. There is something to do for everyone.
