Wheelwrights is a small company with some of the best cottages in the Lake District set amongst stunning scenery in the Langdale Valleys, Grasmere, Ambleside, Hawkshead and Coniston. Whether you are looking for a chocolate box cottage for a romantic weekend or a large farmhouse for a family holiday, we'll have something to suit you. As a small company, we pride ourselves on our personal service and since all our staff are familiar with every one of our cottages, we are able to advise you on just the right cottage for your requirements. We can also tell you about some of the best places to visit in the Lake District, the variety of excellent places to eat and drink and any local activities or events which would add interest to your stay. The majority of our cottages accept well behaved dogs and at off peak times you can check our website for any special offers and discounts which may be in operation during quiet periods. Our minimum break is for 3 nights (usually during off peak times only) and this may be taken over a weekend or during the week, subject to availability. From Easter until November, we generally let for full weeks only, but it is sometimes worth asking. We will be happy to talk to you!

Rooms Description

All of our cottage come equipped with bed linen, a pack of cleaning materials, microwave, hairdryers, TVs, vacuum cleaners, dustpan and brush and broom and an iron and board. We can provide cots and high chairs on request (cot bedding not included).

Specialities

On booking you will be sent a menu from Cumbrian Way Food Co., a local company providing delicious, wholesome, good quality meals for you to heat up in your self catering cottage. These may be ordered ready for your arrival or ordered during your stay. Please ask when enquiring.
