Located in a private country estate on the western shores of Lake Windermere, Graythwaite Home Farm Holidays offers the highest standards in self-catering cottages. Thirteen cottages and barn conversions are located within a secluded courtyard. The original Victorian farmstead of the estate was skilfully converted in the early 1990's. The charm, character and sense of serenity that has been enjoyed at Graythwaite since the 1600's can still be enjoyed at today. Being surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, children and adults alike can enjoy the freedom of exploring wihtout the risk of busy traffic.

Grizedale Forest lies in the next valley westward with a wide variety of trails and nature walks, a 'Theatre in the Forest' and an exhibition centre. You can also Go Ape! and swing from tree to tree high above the forest floor for over two hours of adrenalin-fuelled fun, laughter and adventure. The busy centres of Bowness and Ambleside are an hours gentle cruise away. This southern Cumbrian village, easily reached from the A590, offers many activities and interests for the Lake District visitor as well as the steam railway to Lakeside, a hand engraving studio.
