Groups Accommodation in the Lake District

The Lake District is renowned for it's meandering canals, including the Rochdale Canal and the Huddersfield Canal which form part of the Pennine Ring. This canal network offers great opportunity for a group holiday with a difference - hiring a canal boat for a week or two! Basic instruction operation is inclusive and this really is a superb way to enjoy the Cumbrian countryside.

Group Holidays in Cumbria

The Lake District is particularly well covered for bunkhouses and outdoor activity centres, found in most Lakeland Fells rich areas in Cumbria, for example around Keswick and the spectacular Northern Fells. Umm, why not put your corporate team through 'physical hell' in one of the many outdoor centres which usually include an array of outdoor activities such as climbing, walking and hiking, as well as orienteering.

Many outdoor activity centres are located near lakes, offering a choice of watersports with trained supervisors on hand to assist and advise. Accommodation sleeping arrangements in Youth Hostels, Activity Centres and Bunkhouses are usually dormitory style with separate female and male dormitories. Occasional family rooms are available. Be sure to check with the accommodation provider if you require a separate family room.

The Lake District is also well served by Youth Hostels. The obvious issue about group accommodation is that you spread the cost. Families can combine to do this, and camping and Youth Hostels are always a cheap budget accommodation option. Look out for Backpacker Hostels as well, which makes the perfect choice for a cheap accommodation venue, and a change to meet other travellers.

Team Building Activity Centres in Cumbria

There's plenty of choice of corporate entertainment and training centres in the Lake District, some very large accommodating over 100, with often more than one group attending courses and/or activities at any one time. Some centres will accommodate smaller numbers around the 35 mark, meaning that there is only ever one group at the centre. About group travel insurance

Development programmes at Team Building Activity Centres can range from Personal and Team Development, Basic Team building, Stress and its Management, Assertiveness and Conflict Management and general Corporate Entertainment Breaks - all these seem befitting to the times!

Some centres will be more basic than others. Always check on facilities, particularly restaurant facilities, training and accreditation of staff. Many centres will offer you a choice of either using their courses and trained staff or bringing your own package.

Outdoor Activity Centres in the Lake District

Activities at Outdoor Activity Centres include things like rock climbing, hill walking, camping, sailing, orienteering, canoeing and kayaking, caving, gorge walking, mountain biking and sometimes skiing! The level of outdoor pursuits depends largely on the experience and interest of guests, but most courses offered will include a basic introduction to the activity.
