The Award Winning Muncaster Experience. Watch out for ghosts!
Join the Debate, at the Sellafield Visitors CentreSeascale, the only 'village' on the Cumbrian coast, and it does have deep roots, having first been an early Norse settlement, followed by Roman settlement. Seascale, courtesy of the Furness West Coast Railway Company, was once a Victorian favourite seaside holiday resort, with many families from the North of England travelling to the area noted for it's pure sea air, miles of clean sandy beaches with safe bathing and a quaint village atmosphere.
There's plenty of golf, bowling and local village cricket however which is highly recommended! It's a beautiful coastline with views across to the Isle of man.

Roman settlement stretched as far down from Hadrian's Wall along this coast, and Ravenglass was a key Roman settlement area. The remains of the bath house of the Roman fort of Ravenglass, which was established in AD130, are extremely well-preserved.
Now a journey on the Eskdale Railway is truly a spectacular experience taking you seven miles from Ravenglass on the coast through Muncaster Mill, and up through two of the most stunning valleys in the Lake District. The line ends at Eskdale/Dalegarth. It's a great way to get to know this area, and you can take one of the many walks and trails from each stop.
The Sellafield Visitor Centre is aimed very much at schools and educational visits. Also on-site are extensive conference and meeting room facilities and exhibition space.
The exhibition delves into controversial areas in the energy debate. The Centre offers an opportunity to explore a critique of nuclear power, and other sources of power less detrimental to the environment, whilst simultaneously exploring facts such as how much of our fuel is produced by nuclear power stations.
Visitors can delve into the history of BNFL in 'The World of BNFL' exhibition. Pressure from Ireland particularly continues to highlight the risks and dangers of nuclear power (check the Greenpeace weblink to the right for further details).
