Kendal Mint Cake
George Romney's Kendal Mint Cake was established way back in 1936, and yes it has been to the top of Everest - in 1953 to be precise!
The mint cake is still made in traditional copper pans on gas boilers by the long-standing family business. There's a story on it's origination. It was supposed to be glacier mints, but a slight loss of concentration by the maker resulted in the mixture becoming cloudy and starting to grain.
Umm, they make chocolate covered mint cake now as well. Check out the website for a full listing of produces. Kendal Mint Cake is deliciously delectable - do try it wot wot!
